Array An immature something–probably male Anna–was feeding at the back feeder. I approached with the new, full feeder. I moved the fresh feeder to within a couple of inches of the older one. The hummer flew over to the new feeder and fed for a while. We got 2.4 inches the other night, overnight, and have received in dribs and drabs another probably three inches in the last week.

Array Points: 51Players remaining: Brind’Amour No other teams really have a shot to pull into the top four — the money spots — and given that this may be a short series, I fear I’m stuck with a respectible third-place finish (out of 20 teams). The bizarre thing is I’ve got two Stars and three Flyers on my team, which means more than half my roster was eliminated in the first round.

Most of the money that is donated is given by just 10% of donors: Those who gave 70 or more in 2004 account for 62% of all donations. And it’s the same for volunteerism, 25% of the volunteers contribute 75% of the volunteer time.Infidels from other nations, sons and daughters of pigs and monkeys, might be asking themselves why this is, how come Canadians are so cheap? You have a better chance at taking a T-bone away from a frothing, malnourished Pit Bull than you do at extracting a nickle from a Canadians pocket. Some Canadians, such as Fenris and I are generous to a fault, we care hard and deeply for our fellow human beings, while most Canadians sleep with their pillows filled with loonies and their finger on the trigger of their illegal weapon.

He also admitted that the NKF had made ‘a few errors’ over the years in telling the public how many patients it treats. But he denied that there was a deliberate strategy to mislead the public, saying that he and his colleagues ‘honestly believed’ they should raise as much money as they could for the ‘patients of the future’.In May last year, Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan informed Parliament that the NKF had treated 1,414 patients in 1999 and 1,512 patients in 2003.The previous month, the NKF had told The Straits Times that it needed about ,600 a month to support each of its 2,000 patients, a total of 2.4 million per year. The charity cited those figures to bolster its argument that its reserves were not excessive. That is the way we answered the public,’ he said. But Mr Singh noted that even if the NKF had to foot the entire dialysis bill of 1.6 million a year, its current reserves of 62 million would last more than eight years. He suggested that there was a ‘conspiracy’, a ‘deliberate strategy’ to create a false impression of need so that NKF would get more money, a suggestion Mr Durai rejected.Mr Durai also denied that his performance bonus was linked to the amount of donations NKF received.

-ne Analysis: Tough questions remain for NHL6-year contract clears up some issues, not allThursday, July 14, 2005By Dave Molinari, Pittsburgh Post-GazetteThe National Hockey League and the NHL Players Association yesterday reached a new six-year agreement, but whether they did so in time to save the league from severe, perhaps permanent, damage won’t be clear for some time.A long list of issues — from possible rules changes to a new national television partner to lower ticket prices — will have to be addressed before training camps open in early September. If adopted by the league this week and the players next week, the agreement will end the league’s 301-day lockout, which scuttled the entire 2004-05 season. The proposed agreement links revenues and payrolls, giving players a maximum of 54 percent of the money the league generates. In this country, the NHL might have a hard time getting many games, let alone ads, on national TV.The Penguins’ broadcast rights for the coming season already are spoken for — they have a multiyear TV deal with Fox Sports Net, and one year left on a radio deal with Clear Channel.Part of selling the sport on national television will be how the league handles possible rules changes to make the game more entertaining. The only official change so far is a reduction in the size of goaltenders’ equipment, but there are strong indications that the NHL will crack down on obstruction and interference infractions — tactics that negate the talents of skilled players — and make several other significant revisions. There is strong sentiment to employ shootouts to produce a winner in games that are tied after overtime, and some people in the industry are advocating such radical steps as removing the center red line for purposes of two-line passes, arguing that would add another element of offense to the game.In a shootout, teams select players — usually three or five — to go one-on-one against the opposing team’s goaltender.

the claim that moral values trumped the economy and the hellbroth in iraq at last month’s election seems to be a golem gone amok. morals, apparently, only enter into the issues of gay marriage and abortion. no, my friends, it is only whom you pledge your immortal love to and whether, as a woman, you may choose your biological fate that concerns these self-proclaimed arbiters of morality. the website care2.com sent out an e-mailer to their faithful, reminding them that only 22% of those who claimed morals guided their votes held that gay marriage and abortion moved their votes, whereas 42% said iraq was their biggest concern. that the religious right does not own morals, and that peace and justice are moral issues also. they also speak of the moral imperative of taking care of those in need. and it strikes me that his idea of morality is quite different from that of those self-elected presidents of his fan club.

Scenes from the War with Troy When they came FOR ULYSSES – that KNOCK ON THE DOOR – Ulysses knew they had come to drag him to war. But clothing was not a necessity at home In Ithika So, when Palamedes arrived Ulysses would have been caught with pants down, Either way. Palamedes watched as Ulysses yoked himself To a plow. Palamedes turned to Penelope Who stood in the Foyer The baby in her arms. “It’s hateful to think that without the expertise of men like Ulysses that the war will drag on and on and more young men will have to be drafted and die and eventually Eventually seventeen years from now we’ll be returning to drag Telemachus off to make war on Troy.” “That will never happen.” “This was could last that long.” “No. what I mean I will never let Telemachus be A part of your war.” Whereupon Palamedes grabbed the boy And swooped him out of Penelope’s hands Penelope reached to take back her son. Palamedes felt the Ithikan King’s fist Large and solid as a frying pan Collide with his cheekbone And Palamedes went down Collapsing on the soft earth. And Ulysses continued to beat Palamedes.

When Nathan Devane threatened to kill Gary Hollister in the middle of rehearsal that day, he never imagined that anyone would take him seriously, nor how much he would later come to regret the threat once Hollister actually turned up dead. Nathan almost certainly would not have made such an intemperate remark in public had he known that it would make him the chief suspect in the investigation that began after someone with similar but more determined sentiments went and did the bastard Hollister in, in a spectacularly brutal manner that made Nathan feel considerably more sorry for him than satisfied. “You were great in The Bird Cage.” The cops looked at Nathan, and became perplexed, apparently trying to figure out why he did not look like the actor in The Bird Cage. “Not Nathan Lane,” Nathan said. “Think of it as a cross between Nathan Detroit and William Devane,” Nathan offered. “Whose Nathan Detroit?” the first cop asked. “So, whose Nathan Detroit?” the first cop asked. Nathan Devane WROTE it!” “Right,” the second cop said, and wrote this information down. The reason Nathan (who, as has been demonstrated and cannot be overemphasized, was the playwright) was so angry was because Hollister (who, as has been demonstrated, was merely the director) had rewritten the end of Nathan’s play. Had Hollister re-written the scene, showed Nathan the pages, and asked for his o.k, Nathan would have been affronted by Hollister’s presumptuousness, but he would have been content to either allow the changes and take credit for them as his own if they were good, or politely decline permission if they were not. But the most galling thing of all was that, after Nathan, filled with appropriately outraged indignation, had firmly and in no uncertain terms insisted that Hollister return his play to its original state, Hollister flat out refused to do so.

Array By comparison it was a dull book year, but the five standouts were Ian McEwen/Atonement, Sebald/Austerlitz, an old Alan Furst called The World at Night, the preposterously titled but wonderful Alice Munro collection HateshipFriendshipCourtshipLoveship Marriage, and as always this year’s Anita Brookner, Bay of Angels. Treating me better than I deserve to be treated, he followed this up with a delicious black bean stew.Though I’m anxious to read the Lily Tuck short story collection that Daniel gave me, I neurotically consider this an unworthy candidate for first book of the year. But I’m starting the year with Henri Michaux’s strange book of drug-induced Belgian aphorisms, Tent Posts. I think I may sell some of his sixty books but I’m not sure. I loathe sunshine in winter- we’ve had only a couple lovely gray days and almost no snow, just day after blinding arctic day, the sun slicing horizontally across the edge of the sky, making me sneeze and giving me headaches.Clinton’s dog Buddy was killed by a car today, and my friend Bill’s friend Deb’s black lab- also called Buddy, one of a brother/sister pair- also just died. The thought of Georgia, the other one, named for O’Keeffe of course, alone now, makes me cry.I crave a book. He has a new boyfriend, though we don’t talk about it.The Woodland Pattern Book Center’s annual fundraising read-a-thon is next weekend. Carl asked his friend Stacey for material suggestions and she said “French poetry.” This gave him license to buy a bunch of books but he remained unfocussed. Usually I don’t have many by this point in the season but Yale has six this time, stunning art books that are awkward to carry around but people will buy a book they can hold in their hands more often than one simply described in a catalog.- laptop- gym bag (another resolution)- suitcase (clothes)- briefcase: folders for each of the three presses, account lists/address book, my personal catalogs loaded with additional notes, work in progress, office supplies.- jacket kit: binders containing covers and interior art. Various non Harvard/MIT/Yale notebooks, magazines, newspapers, aspirin, phone, camera, CDs, books I’m reading or plan to read.Zak, our dog, watched me pack in seeming disbelief. The idea of asking the businesslike Amy at West Bank Books if I can take her picture for my photo documentation project deflates me and I fear it’s dead in the water before it starts. While she has pretty specific numbers in mind, she has smart questions and is willing to take my (mostly superfluous) suggestions seriously. Our conversation shifts seamlessly on and off task- one minute we’re discusing the sales potential of a book on why smart people behave stupidly, the next, whether she made the right wallpaper selection for her hallway. Towering piles of old and new catalogs, stacks of galleys and finished books, computer printouts, flyers and faxes and paper of every sort. He had been a buyer here for as long as anyone could remember, through the halcyon days when students and professors bought enough non-required academic books to warrant stocking them liberally. To sell books to this man was an exercise in distraction avoidance. This season’s book on X would call forth anecdotes about the similar book on Y ten years ago, though “anecdote” is too generous a description of these Bill Moments, because the one thing these digressions usually lacked was a central anecdote. Refocussing him on the catalog before the phantom book had been identified was a skill I never perfected.Aside from books, Bill’s passion was movies. Every book has to be shelved somewhere, and some books come with a bewildering array of potential homes. But unlike most buyers, who eventually settle on one idea of what a book is mainly about and put it there, Bill would add a copy to his order for every section of the store in which the book could plausibly be found. For a rep selling books with designations like “history/gender studies/performance/cultural studies/philosophy” ( a not atypical MIT press configuration), this could be good news indeed, as the one copy became a five. It’s the rare book on her watch that finds itself in more than one category. There are two other branches of the university store- one, at West Bank, specializes in political science, history and law, and the buyer, Amy, comes from an old Minneapolis bookselling family. Followed that up with a bag of items from the most delicious Mexican bakery in the midwest, Marissa’s.Jan 9Ruminator Books day. Normally I like to dedicate the whole day to them but had to schedule both Minneapolis Institute of Art and Amazon Feminist Books for late afternoon. He loves university press books, and though he tries to be realistic about their market- Macalaster College is liberal but small- he’s always on the lookout for offbeat, quirky discoveries that the chain stores won’t appreciate. We share a tendency to “make” a book into the book we want it to be in pursuit of this quirky grail, and we try to check runaway enthusiasm. The store is great, it’s a relaxing and rewarding sales call, and I always end up buying too many books myself.

I took a personality test a couple weeks ago and it said that because I have such a deep understanding and desire of true love, I would be doomed to be always looking because (according to this thing) like 80% of people are satisfied with far less when love in concerned than I am.

Reflective of the present political situation, there is a fierce and often personal debate on the state and effects of air emissions and climate change, how forests and national parks should be managed, what man’s relationship to biodiversity should be, how energy should be developed and utilized, in essence, how development should be sustained. It has the potential to transform our communities, homes, schools, energy requirements, and for states like Arizona, how to develop within the knowledge economy framework. The Expo’s 93 exhibitors/ sponsors, over 60 speakers, and 74 seminars/ workshops/ tours clearly showed how different sectors of society, from engineering, power, design and architectural firms, schools, government, civil society, Native American communities, and individuals are all seeking to develop the technology, systems, policies, and framework on sustainable development for the 21st century. The congruence of the rising apprehension on the long-term stability of energy sources and energy prices, the rising costs of environmental impacts caused by pollution and resource degradation on the economy and health of the citizenry, the increasing pressure on Congress and government to institute and enforce environmental laws, rules, and regulations and the developments in environment-friendly and affordable technology, are creating the critical mass for the mainstreaming of sustainable systems. Oil Supply Situation In his keynote speech, Randy Udall of the prominent political family of Arizona, author, and Director of the Community Office for Resource Efficiency (CORE) based in Aspen, Colorado, as well as in Solar Energy International and Colorado Renewable Energy Society, soberly yet wittingly informed us that the U.S. has already consumed 65% of about 260 Billion gallons of oil produced within its borders as of year 2000, with peak production reached in 1970. Renewable Energy The Expo’s theme is that there are alternatives to the looming energy supply crisis, aside from going to war in the Middle East, and that is by increasingly adopting energy efficient and renewable energy systems. State rebates of up to 55%, income tax credits, net metering can help recover the approximately 2,000 solar electric system that a typical family in Arizona, California, Delaware, Oregon, New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island is expected to spend (Altair Energy), in lieu of the absence of action from Congress and the administration on promoting renewable energy systems. Other forms of renewable energy production (RE) discussed extensively were the successful use of biogas from CAFOs (confined animal feeding operations) and landfills (methane), geothermal energy, biomass (from forest thinning operations) in different parts of the state by different entities from Arizona Public Service (APS), Sandia National Laboratories, to the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority (NTUA). The focus on school buildings is evident in studies that show that a high performance school building which has an integrated design, day lit classrooms, good indoor air, green building materials (no off-gassing), sustainable site planning, and ecological solid waste management, has resulted in a 20% and 26% increase in math and reading skills and 30% energy savings, especially in light of the fact that 76% of U.S. schools are in need of repairs. Savings of about 08 Billion are expected over the next 10 years from these energy saving technologies and systems. About 1,400 manufacturers have achieved Energy STAR labeling across 28,000 individual product models in 40 product categories, with one billion Energy STAR products purchased. Further, EPA reports that more than 2,000 builders have constructed 200,000 Energy STAR qualified new homes to date resulting in an estimated homeowner energy savings of 0 million annually. The nation has to leapfrog into a more sustainable energy development program and not copy the pollutive path taken by the developed countries. Energy efficiency and conservation measures go hand in hand with the development of RE systems.

Primary components of corn yield in the tropicsIn order to develop an index for estimating the yield of corn hybrids in the tropics, a stepwise multiple regression analysis (SMRA) using stand at harvest (SAH), prolificacy (P) and seed weight per ear (SW/E) as independent variables, was fitted on yield data from six replicated yield tests and four commercial trials. The SMRA results in the replicated yield trials, which had less variable SAH among entries due to overseeding and subsequent thinning, revealed that SW/E was consistently the most important yield component followed by P and SAH. The three yield components were all good predictors of yield as shown by the significant coefficient of determination (R2) ranging from 0.725 to 0.997 in the six trials. Number of seedlings per hill and ratooning ability of rice (Oryza sativa L.)In an experiment to study the effects of varying the number of seedlings in a main crop, on the plant stand and tiller regeneration of the ratoon crop, 20-day-old seedlings of rice variety IR44 were transplanted at 1, 2,4, 6 and 8 seedlings per hill. The effect of organic and inorganic matter amendments on rice growth and yield in an acid sulfate soilGreenhouse experiments were conducted to determine the effects of straw, CaC03, and Mn02 on the electrochemical and chemical kinetics rice growth and yield in a flooded acid sulfate soil. Calcium carbonate, alone or in combination with MnO2, depressed Fe2 concentration in the soil solution and significantly increased straw and grain yields. Adding 0.005% MnO2 (by weight of the dry soil) increased the Mn2 in the soil solution, depressed the Fe:Mn ratio in the plant tissue and increased grain yield significantly over the control.

Array-ne I have a bad case of the winter weight blues. Soon begins the season of sun dresses, shorts, and bathing suits (gasp.) Since the beginning of winter I have gone from a size 1 to size 11 jeans (and those are way tight.) When I walked past my full length mirror while getting dressed I thought there was a lumpy person walking behind me.

-ne 01/24/2005 at 10:30 AMI did 2 shows Saturday night in NYC. I got nervous that no one would show up to do the show. Me of little faith thought because he was 25 minutes late during the biggest storm of the season meant that he wasn’t going to show and that I was a fool for even getting out of bed that morning no less traveling 3 hours in to NY in a snow storm. I watched Paul pull the room together for the show in minutes and then run outside. And he gets people to come into the show. The show began and we had a nice crowd….. The room continued to fill up as the show went on….dam…I love New Yorkers. Sitting next to me were two kids from Oregon neither had never been to a comedy show. Paul had a new kid named Matt do a set and he was great and them Paul did some more stage time and delivered another terrific set. Thank God I showed up….I walked over to Sal’s show and the room was filled with a couple from England and two lovely people form Minnesota. ( note to self….by batteries for recorder.) Then all of us after the show went to the bar and talked.

Posted on 01/25/2005 at 03:55 PM by Chris McDevittSeriously…a bald ass little birdie told me that there’s some sort of booked show booting the open mic…and they got your photo hanging on the flyer…So, What up wit that? So sorry Posted on 01/25/2005 at 04:05 PM by Robin FoxA month ago the director of my kids preshool called me and asked me if I had any shows in NJ where she could bring 25 people to see me. Posted on 01/25/2005 at 04:54 PM by Sean O’ConnorI mean Mike Noner is on the show. This is what I don’t get.Why did a self-sufficient, wife, and mother, instantly run to a ‘promoter’ to book a show, she had the built in audience to put on herself? That question aside, I just feel bad for all the comics who aren’t on MYSPACE or COMEDY SOAPBOX, who have no idea about what they’re going to walk into tomorrow. Anyway that’s my piece on it.I guess, That’s my FIVE MINUTES, this week.Chris McDevitt Enough Posted on 01/25/2005 at 08:37 PM by Robin FoxThe reason I didnt have them to the Somerville show is that they wanted a weeknight show for a girls night out. Secondly I mentioned to Liz that Wed was the Stress open Mic and she said that the Weds was the only night offered to her. I didnt want them to be in a room full comics who show thier dicks and tell baby rape jokes. If they did they wouldnt schedual charity functions on open mic night and hire comics and not give a spot to any of the open micers. But the club was booked and the open mic though a PRIORITY to ME and to many wonderful comics isnt to the powers that be. For someone I’ve seen beg, borrow, bitch, and buddy up for stage time, you seem rather free with taking it away from others…You say what you want about my rape babies bit….I’ve never been anything but myself to anyone I’ve met since I got in this….I’ve never done anything to anyone, I wouldn’t want done to me….but above all any show or stage time or appearance I got, I got because of relationships with other comics. No, not buttfucking relationships. Doug, sweetie, I’m looking at you.I’ve showed up week after week at struggling rooms, come out to rooms I wasn’t performing at to strengthen the crowd, pasted URLS and everything else all over the net. getting the last word Posted on 01/25/2005 at 10:11 PM by Robin FoxI booked a show at Rascals. Posted on 01/26/2005 at 02:11 AM by Sean O’ConnorOnce again Mike Noner’s on the show. Robin put together a show at another club, one that would not interfere with your ongoing open-mike. If they enjoy the show, they tell friends, they bring friends, and you get a whole new audience.I’m over forty (not by much) and when I’ve invited people to shows, a lot of what I hear is Wow, I used to go to comedy clubs all the time when I was younger, I dont know why I stopped” and they go back. Posted on 01/26/2005 at 08:51 AM by Chris McDevittWhen you are a regular performer at an open mike…and you are involved in an event that BUYS OUT the room on the open mike night. — Liz (LizzAU@aol.com) my thought Posted on 01/26/2005 at 12:25 PM byChris what im thinking Shaun is saying though is that yah it sucks that your open mic got bought out, but its not robins fault. Im sure she didnt tell the club to bump your open mic. I dont know any of you, but im sorry i have to side with robin on this one also To Liz Posted on 01/26/2005 at 01:31 PM by Sean O’ConnorUnsuccessful? We all love our Open Mic night because for the past two and a half years, we’ve made friends, connections, and people laugh. Plain and simple…we had no idea what this show was all about because people were calling and reserving and we just kept telling them it was open mic nite. We can’t keep doing open Mic with 20 or so people…I know you can’t bring your friends all the time because honestly Ive heard all of you millions of times and I have to be there. She’s a buisness woman who had a show and Job to do…so now when this audience comes in tonite they’re gonna say…hey that was fun lets go back to The Stress Factory again…(NOT RASCALS) and as far as I’m concerned thats good for everyone…including you McDevitt because they very well might come to an open mic night and wait an hour and a half to see your seven minutes (if youre lucky). Posted on 01/26/2005 at 03:26 PM by Chris McDevittNext week…we’ll discuss the ramifications of the show tonight, the apparently ‘new’ leanings of management, and all kinds of other fun factors that shape the future of our lovable home club….

Modify thunderbird so it will append some text at the end of mail body

It seems a easy task, but in fact, I can only achieve via modifying the code (Not just by using preference/cmdline argument). The modification is just a few lines, but it does cost me a lot of time to study. Meanwhile, I’ve learn quite a lot about Mozilla. In this post, I emphasis on how I modify the code. Other related stuff (build system, localization, etc) should be in anohter post :)
Current situation:
Mozilla already accept a cmdline argument which will do similar stuff
$ thunderbird -compose ‘to=foo@no.net,attachment=file:///tmp/a.txt’
However, it isn’t exactly what I want.

In mail composer, user can have a preference called signature, you can define a file which will be automatically appended to the mail body, whenever you compose a new mail. This doesn’t solve my problem though, because this options is per user profile. Also, if I use this signature as the mail footer as I want, user will be able to alter it easily. On the other hand, user cant use both the signature and the mailfooter at the same time.

-ne (Humorous Speech Contest piece) Love, Cinderella and the Gay Frog Prince – (purely from figments of my imagination) Xiao, January 2005 Last Friday night was a typical weekender, the night when all the powers of the universe combine and transfigure me into an old grumpy spinster, pathetically deprived of romance, excessively lacking libido but with a gifted appetite for chocolates, Marlboro and TV. Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am the frog prince, constantly embattled why my first love’s kiss turned me into a frog, and no matter where I hop, my fairytale grew from being hopeless to pathetic. But I came to find out that it takes more than virginity to please your prince; I just replied, ‘yeah.’ After what seemed to be forever, I braced myself for the major turn-off of the century, he asked me , “uhm, do gays sleep with men?” I WAS THE BIGGEST VIRGIN IN THE WORLD, and he asked me if I sleep with men… DUUUHHHH!!! Besides, it didn’t take much longer for Snow White, Princess Aurora the Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella to realize they were all married to the same guy, Prince Charming. My prince would have to kiss the path I walked on, worship me all my life, and promise to do my laundry for eternity.

I applaud his originality with his new album (Kanye), It was much more original than 50’s bland continuation of his musical drool. He best be announcing his retirement any day now! album chart has just come in and Kanye West’s Graduation is the #1 disc in Great Britain.

and hurricane Katrina…..It stated that the levees that are there now could not secure the city in a category 3 hurricane. And that there is NO MONEY to rebuild them……Bush just asked for 0 billion funding the war in Iraq. What is that? It’s just an example of how selfish people in power are.If I had 0 billion I’d give half of it to a stop the most RETARDED war in history…And the other half to the most worthy causes WITHIN my own country…What are we fighting for anyway????Is it a war to fight terrorism….

I know it’s well on into July, but just thought I’d pass along my pics for my favorite books, movies and albums of the year so far…Books: I’ve read Thomas Frank’s Whats the Matter With Kansas”, Philip K. Dicks A Scanner Darkly, J.K. Rowlings “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” and “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.” But the only book Ive read this year that came out this year is …Douglas Couplands “JPod.” I havent finished reading it yet, but its a quick summer read. The events are goofy and some of the literary tricks (spilling out Pi onto about 40 pages, appearing as himself in the book) are the equivalent of Wilcos incorporating minutes of static into Less Than You Think. Still, Coupland nails cubicle worker drone camaraderie better than most novelists. Even though JPod is as filling as air crisps, Coupland keeps the pacing light and engaging. I didnt want to put it down, which should count for something when determining the quality of a book.MoviesI gotta say that so far, the summer was woefully underwhelming. Im going out with a guy tonight and he asked if I saw Superman Returns. Though the movie wasnt horrible, I almost begged him not to pick that movie. Just cant take sitting through that again. Pirates I knew wasnt going to be good, so I wasnt let down. That said, count me in line for the third. Now, for the top pics so far…4. Tell Me Do You Miss Me: A great documentary about the now-disbanded Luna.3. Wordplay: superb documentary, even though it has its share of New York Times ass-kissing moments. As engaging as Spellbound and the gay couple in this movie should give any alienated gay geek boy hope in finding his Mr. Right in the look and fashion-obsessed world that is mainstream gay culture.2. V For Vendetta: Is Natalie Portman the next female action star? Not nearly as revolutionary as social critics pen it to be, V For Vendetta, like Sin City the year before, threw a Molotov cocktail into cineplexes. One of the few movies Id consider purchasing.1. United 93: Hotel Rwanda was the last movie that shook me up as much as United 93. Director Paul Greengrass goes as far to recruit Ben Sliney, who was the real-life FAA operations manager on September 11, 2001 to retell the story of what probably happened on United 93. Greengrass tells the story the only way this story could be told: through a calm, detached eye, using hundreds of pages of transcripts and interviews from family members.I realize that we need more movies showing whats really going on in Iraq and Afghanistan. I do realize that with upcoming September 11-themed movies, this problem wont go away. Still, September 11, like Pearl Harbor, like the Cold War, was an event that separated “pre” and “post.” Pre-World War II, post Cold War, post September 11, in 91 minutes, United 93 once again puts us in that day, where the unimaginable was unfolding before our eyes.Music: 3. Destroyer: Destroyers Rubies - Dan Bejars manic energy hinted in the more abstract songs from The New Pornographers is toned down a bit on this release. Still, its a huge album that rewards patient listeners. 2. Ghostface Killah: Fishscale - The rap game is not kind to the 25-and-older crowd. That said, it was awesome to see an elder statesman mop the competition on this release. 1. Neko Case: Fox Confessor Brings the Flood - I may not have liked this as much as Blacklisted and its not as revolutionary as Destroyer or Sufjan Stevens Illinoise, but Fox Confessor is my favorite album of the year.

As far as I can remember, this is the hottest temperature in which I have ever ridden the bike. I did 25 miles, and as I was heading back downtown the front with last nights thunderstorms came through and this same sign was down to 93.

It may be possible to secure MPA funding for a project tied in with our highly rated (see Ofsted report) youth service.d) Fear of Crime is another area where there may be scope for applying for MPA funding.e) Another idea could be for different borough Police Consultative Groups to specialise in various areas and be the lead PCG for that subject?2. Criminal Damage and Disorder were up over the quarter and this was put down to the Safer Neighbourhood Teams reporting more of this, which is probably a good thing as we get to understand what is happening locally.d) Cycle Theft, Vehicle Crime, Racial Crime and Homophobic crime were down.e) Domestic Violence reporting was higher, but this is a good thing as it massively under reported and is probably the highest actual crime in the borough.

The difference between wind and many other emission-free energy sources is that wind is available and working now, both here and overseas, with proven, reliable technology.Australia is blessed with some of the best and most reliable winds on earth. South Australia, which has 51% of Australia’s wind energy, has one turbine per 4, 553 square km.Renewable wind energy contributes significant amounts of green electricity:. The Australian wind energy industry does not exist because of taxpayer subsidies. An individual wind farm project may cost anywhere from 00 million to 00 million and the renewable energy company must carry the entire financial liability without government funding. Denmark gets 20% of its electricity from wind, Germany gets 5%, and Europe is aiming to produce 12% of its total electricity consumption from wind by 2020. This year alone the USA plans to install 3.000MW of wind power, which is four times Australia’s total installed capacity.Wind’s economic contribution: The wind energy industry in Australia currently has .7 billion in capital investment with the potential for billions more, if there were incentives to invest.

Array Then 25th-ranked and unbeaten Gonzaga (now 21st-ranked) lost to the Illini 89-72 (Gonzaga has losses only to Illinois and Missouri, the latter the only team to come within less than 12 points of the Illini, losing by 70-64). Then 1st-ranked and unbeaten Wake Forest lost 89-72 (it is still the only loss for the 12-1 team). 22nd-ranked Mississippi State showed Auburn that its basketball team is in a completely different league than its football team, as Auburn lost 90-53. Oklahoma has only two close road losses, to two superb teams, Duke (after leading the Blue Devils by 11 at the half) and Washington, and in our opinion should be ranked in the top 10.

Dear Guys, Just back from a memorable trip today at 6 AM and am already into my Winter Quater! So, It looks like I am back to the good old busy days again for 10 more weeks now! The trip to New York from Cincinnati actually got cancelled as many backed out in the last moment and my senior Vishnu lost his enthu to drive just for four people. I had been telling my uncle and thopz for more than a week that we would all have a grand time at NYC and was so sad when the entire thing was called off. Starting from Ground Zero, the site of the WTC, we walked thru the Wall Street, Broadway, NYU, 5th Avenue, Washington Square and by the time it was 6 pm, we found that we had ended up amidst people being frisked by the NYPD. Soon it was our turn to get frisked and we were disheartened to hear the NYPD officer say No Back Packs Whatsoever!. Now that we knew NYPD was not all that NYPD, Occasionally Rohit and Thopz went out of the ring on the pretext of attending the nature’s call and returned with Full Size Pizzas and bread sticks hidden within their winter jacket! After the memorable jamboree, we were back on our ways, except that I took Thopz with me to my uncle’s place. Bugz back to Jersey, Thopz for some lacha about old school days with Rohit and Srikant at Stony Brook and Me back for atleast sometime with uncle and family before I leave! Just back from the memorable trip today at 6 AM and am already into my Winter Quater! So, It looks like I am back to the good old busy days again for 10 more weeks now!
